Pelvic health physiotherapy is an evidence-based treatment for common conditions within the pelvis such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. A comprehensive subjective and objective evaluation is conducted to identify all the factors that are contributing to your symptoms. A treatment plan will be formulated with personalized short and long-term goals.

The subjective assessment can include reviewing your past medical history and asking appropriate questions pertaining to pain, bladder and bowel, and sexual function with the use of validated and reliable outcome measures.

The objective assessment will look at global contributors such as breathing, posture and alignment, movement patterns, overall strength and conditioning, the lumbar and thoracic spine, and the pelvic floor muscle function.

He earned his undergraduate degree from McMaster University in Kinesiology, where his excitment for human movement and performance took off. He then pursued his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Western University.

Austyn’s passion for physiotherapy started when he had to overcome several injuries to get back to playing sports and staying healthy and active. His treatment approach is rooted in evidence-based techniques that combine manual therapy, education, acupuncture, and functional exercises.

Outside of the clinic, Austyn enjoys playing many sports including baseball, volleyball, soccer, and running. Brittany graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology undergraduate degree from Dalhousie University. Following this, she attended Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where she graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Since completing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree Brittany has been a Resident of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences where she is studying to challenge the Fellowship examination. Those close to her know she’s a bit of a mad scientist and is known to wake up in the middle of the night and run to her whiteboard with a case formulation strategy!

Farah believes wholeheartedly in connectedness in the therapist community and works hard as a Regional Network Coordinator on behalf of EMDR Canada as well as hosting various groups for therapists. She also provides consultations and support to other therapists.

Over a decade ago, Farah saw a service gap and in order to connect with people who may not be able to meet in person, she engaged with the University of Toronto’s e-counseling program and now provides certified counseling online. This has proven very helpful for many people including those who travel frequently but would like to continue the flow of their sessions or those living remotely.

She has earned recognition’s from the college through her years of work and most specifically in providing preventative education to reduce risks of suicide in long term care facilities with the geriatric population.

Farah is inspired by her belief in people’s desire and ability to heal, grow and thrive. She has ongoing interests in neuroscience and is passionate to support people in learning about their own minds. ​ ​Farah has also worked with various organizations to develop collegial relationships, conflict resolution and soft skills as well as program development. Mat graduated from the Masters of Physiotherapy program at McMaster University after completing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University.

He has completed the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program, furthering the breadth of his physiotherapy skill set. He has extensive knowledge of the neurophysiological basis of acupuncture, as well as electroacupuncture, motor point and dry needling techniques.

Mat is also a certified Specialist in Muscle Activation Techniques. Through this technique, he is able to effectively identify and treat muscle imbalances that may be causing dysfunction in the body. He is currently working on his Master Specialist designation in Muscle Activation Techniques.

Mat continues to work on his manual therapy skill set. He has completed advanced courses in Soft Tissue Release and is currently working on obtaining a diploma in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy (Dip. AMPT).

Maraili completed her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University, where she worked as a clinical intern, assisting in the orthopaedic rehabilitation of both varsity athletes and general community members. While at McMaster, Maraili also worked with individuals with spinal cord injury in a specialized gym environment to help them regain strength and function in their daily lives.

Following her time at McMaster, Maraili moved on to complete her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Western University. During this time, she gained further experience in the treatment of cardiorespiratory, neurological and orthopedic conditions. She also took part in the development of community programs for those with pelvic health conditions and spinal cord injuries to increase their ability to access specialized rehabilitation.

Brianne is a graduate from McMaster University where she received her Master’s in Physiotherapy. Prior to this, she graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Brianne is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, as well as its Orthopaedic Division. Brianne has taken post graduate education in manual therapy, disorders of the spine, soft tissue mobilizations and acupuncture through the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (CAFCI). This has allowed Brianne to provide her patients with an extensive array of treatment options that gets to the source of their aches and pains.

Brianne has successfully completed the Emory University Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency Based Course. This six-day, intense evidence-based course is held in Atlanta, Georgia and co-sponsored by the American Physical Therapy Association.
